Several TV appearances followed in 2002 including ABCвЂ™s Dick ClarkвЂ™s American Bandstand 50th Anniversary Show and That 70s Show on Fox. One month later Thayer got the call and donned the Spaceman makeup for the first time, filling in and performing onstage with Kiss at a private concert in Trelawny, Jamaica. Thayer managed the 1995 Worldwide Kiss Convention tour and the Kiss MTV Unplugged concert. Thayer's work for Stanley & Simmons began by performing such tasks as painting Stanley's house and cleaning out Simmons' gutters. In 1994 Kiss's Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley hired Thayer to work part-time on their forthcoming book Kisstory, which led to other projects and eventually a full-time role with Kiss. Jackson Professional Series guitars are built in Japan. ' Jackson USA and Jackson Custom Shop series guitars are built in Ontario, CA. The Hondo Guitar Company was purchased by MBT International in 1995 and began offering Hondo guitars through their large Musicorp distribution catalog.' In 1989, Jerry Freed started the Jerry Freed International company, and acquired the rights to the Hondo trademark in 1991. By 1987, Hondo had ceased operations and the trademark was put into hiatus. In 1985, IMC acquired the major interest in the Charvel/Jackson company, and began dedicating more time and interest in the higher end guitar market. IMC's intent was to introduce modern manufacturing techniques and American quality standards to the Korean guitar manufacturing industry. ' The Hondo guitar company was originally formed in 1969 when Jerry Freed and Tommy Moore of the International Music Corporation (IMC) of Fort Worth, TX, combined with the recently formed Samick company.
